I have found this camera bag fits the size requirements for an 8x10 view camera. Basically 14.5" inside across to fit this camera into. Problem is this bag is long since discontinued and not much on the used sites. What current new Lowepro backpack bag is basically the same size inside as this older backpack? I looked on their website, and found the Pro Trekker 650AW. Any experience with this new bag? My camera dimensions are 14"H x 12"W x 8"D. I'd like to make sure there is still room in the bag for some film holders and a couple lenses.

Did anyone answer you here? I've been running down the same rabbit hole. The "replacement" AW III seems to be a DSLR with lens formulation. Space looks good for my 4X5, but I'm wondering about configuring the rest. Did you solve your problem with this or another backpack?

No currently made backpack is as big as the old ones they made. Im having issues finding one that is big enough for my large 8x10 camera. Only thing is to wait for a used one to come up on Ebay. I missed the last one.

I'd have to check to be sure, but I'm pretty sure I have one lying about not being used. If you're interested, let me know and I'll try to verify that it's a Lowepro Super Trekker AW and determine a price. Shipping, though, may be unreasonable from the southwest USA to British Colombia.

Yep. Keep looking @ the F64 packs and thinking that's as you say, "OLD STOCK". Rather buy used in that case. Have had good results with USED whatever. I've looked at the Lowepro AW III bag... and wondered whether it'd work. Probably have to call them to get more information, but the bag I have isn't getting it done. Don't need a lot more, but would like a handy place to hang my tripod and geared head... maybe add a bit more stuff. Hate to trek up to Falls Church by the Air & Space Annex to check out these things at Dominion Camera / Ace Photo, but there may be no better option. Bought a nice Billingham bag used there once. Great bag... for smaller stuff.
Good folks, too. But a real haul to get there from Annapolis.

Photographywise I only buy used. This includes bags, also Loewe bags. But keep in mind that at outdoor bags that old typically the inner coating of the Nylon shell is deteriorating meanwhile (becoming sticky). I experienced a stickiness issue at Loewe camera bags too.

Though as in camera bags there typically is a cushioning, the stickiness will be restricted to only few accessible surfaces, or to parts that can be cut off.

Another option. Look for the Zone IV larger camera bag. It was made of white vinyl. The larger one was for 8x10 cameras.

Tamrac used to make large backpacks that were for LF. I'd have to dig it up from my storage to see which model it was, and I know I did not get the largest size as I only needed it for 4x5 and Toyo field at that. At the time (late 1990s) it was THE backpack to buy. It was sort of beginning of quality backpacks with great support etc.

While I can't get to my storage soon enough to check (it was likely an Expedition series pack) here is Tamrac's largest Anvil-27 from current crop of their offering. No direct experience with new Tamrac, it used be the top brand 3 decades back.

I have one of those old Tamrac for my Mamiya RB67 medium format kit with four lenses and a lot of other stuff. When I got my 4x5 this year, now with four lenses also, I got an f64 BPX. It's not made as well. But it's big and deep. It also comes with two removable side pouches that hold 4x5 film holders.

@Alan Edward Klein I'll keep this brand in mind for own search when I end up needing one. My Tamrac wound up getting so little use, it is still in top condition and only now, it appears, will see some more serious hiking.

My f64 is Ok near the car. But I wouldn't use it for long hikes, even if I was a hiker. Unless the later models have been upgraded, the support system is not the best and the belt is a little short if you have a big gut.

@Alan Edward Klein My gut got lost when I started running 6 years ago  Perhaps was never as pronounced as I see on TV sometimes, I could still see some things, but nevertheless I'm happy with what I got now, just the basic digestive function without gravitational consequences

I've got a small Tamarac (bought at "Ace" - see link above) for MF, but now with LF 4X5, it "works" but I have to carry the tripod and geared head separately. Basically, if I load the car and don't go far, it's fine. But the car has a shopping bag of other stuff. So I need more space and would love away to attach a tripod + head. I'm liking the bags that have a waist strap as that helps shift weight off the shoulders. The real answer is to carry less... duh. I do that when I'm shooting. Even replaced the shopping bag with another camera shoulder bag... bought used but almost new condition. It's the tripod carry that I"d love to solve to free up my hands.,

So what Alan says about the F64 bags rings a bell... they look old and without much of a frame to even the load. I'm resisting that option. My small bag is fine. It's the 4X5 + tripod thing I"m trying to solve.

FWIW, I think "urban landscape photography" is under appreciated. Living in a picturesque town offers lots of possibilities, and I can see this.... so some of my photo hikes are 'round the burb. Yet much the same needs apply. Civilized carry perhaps if you will: Don't need to carry food, or water or clothes.... just my gear.I'll get it figured soon enough maybe. Or at least get another bag that gets closer to the right one.

Good afternoon, I have one available for best offer (it's a bit dusty but will cleanup) and shipping costs from NYC. Not trying to get rich just clean out my basement.

Sounds crazy, but I was wondering if you still had that super trekker? I know it's a long shot. Thanks!

She hasn't been on this site since 5 days after she joined. She was going to sell me her bag, but I think it was missing some innards, and I decided against getting it. That was a year ago, and I'd question if she even still has it now.

I had one and disliked the thing. I prefer and old external frame pack which modified to suit my LF needs.
YMMV, of course!

Adorama is selling one on eBay, search lowepro backpack should come up in a few pages(of 50)

After searching for a month, I finally went with the f-stop shinn. it fits all my gear, but is a little stiff where it goes against your back. Other than that, it's a great bag.

Does anyone have suggestions about a bag to fit a Richard Ritter 11x14? It's 8 inches thick by 20+ wide and 18" high. I'm having a heck of time finding anything suitable for taking this camera out of doors, even on a wheeled collapsible hand cart.
