I've come into some cash, and one thing that's been on my wish list for a while is a complete new lighting setup.
Currently I have a mish-mash of studio strobes acquired over time. All together, the system pretty much works, but its clumsy and hard to use.
What I'd love to get into is something where I can control each of the lights remotely. That's the biggie. Right now everything is manually controlled on the back of the light. Makes setting things up a chore.
Looking around, I see lots of options for that, but the real question is which way to go for the lights themselves. Is it time to abandon strobes and go to LEDs?
My use is probably 60% studio, 30% outdoor and 10% indoor location shoots, so portability is a factor.
I am pretty comfortable with strobes, but I have this notion that continuous LED lighting is the way things are going.
Ideas?
