Hi all,

As per the title, simply looking for requests for a reputable individual or company who can professionally and meticulously CLA my Graflex Speed Graphic camera - specifically the focal plane shutter, which is running a little sluggish on speeds.

I am looking for someone who is located in the U.K. (England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland) or Ireland. If there is no one, I would gladly accept recommendations for people in mainland Europe.

Many thanks all, and happy weekend

Newton and Ellis in Liverpool is another possible service company. Ian Grant a regular here on Photrio uses Speed Graphics and may have other sources

When servicing the FPS the bushings for the curtain rollers can become egg shaped from wear therefore it is best to keep the bushing on the roller it is currently on.
The tension spring wears and the shutter does not run marked speeds after a CLA. Heat treating the spring as described in this spring making guide http://www.deansphotographica.com/machining/projects/springs/springs.html will improve the springs performance by 15% to 20%.
At some point in time or for a period of time Graflex changed from a single spring the length of the tension (lower) roller to two shorter springs in the roller. It was not documented nor was it standard production for the entire production run, 1947 - 1970.
