Hey... Thanks! I built Chip's site.

Dear Bill,

I visited once again the website of Chip Forelli...
In the future they can imitate this one, but no improvement is possible

Sober, clear, aesthetically, and beautiful images

Congrats for the design!

Fred

Heh well looks like everyone is showing off their sites. So I will post mine just because.
But it's pretty basic. No flash of video or sliding menus. I've been thinking alot about different designs, and I think I have decided what I want to do for the next version. I really hate thumbnail galleries. people are inclined to pick the bold pics and pass up the subtle.

Use the tools available to you to create something that truly reflects you and your vision!

You are asking a limited scope audience who commonly believe in manual processes over technological, regardless if one is better than another. some of the "hooeey" I have read here would lead me to believe they would prefer not to view images on a computer at all. They will not use the computer or internet for what it was designed to do, or is evolving to become, yet blather their personal beliefs all over internet.

Do you ask these people what you should take a picture of? What f-stop? what film? what developer? what paper? If so, please stop. It is not important that they like your work, your website, or that your work looks like someone elses. We all get caught in this trap and have to recognize when it blocks our creativity and self expression. I'm guilty too.

Suggested Reading "Letting go of the camera" by Brooks Jensen. Much of it applies to personal web site design too.

I put this portion of this site up a couple days ago. It reflects how I would like to see this photographers web site layed out. One of the constraints placed on the design was that the photographer really likes the older portion of the site.

Incase it is not obvious, I am referring to the pages that link to the NY show.

If you seriously believe that the only group of people I was looking for feedback from was this small group of people, I feel sorry for you brother...

this link won't open. even when I correct the spelling of source. any idea why now?

Sorry 'bout the spelling Lee. One shouldn't type when in a hurry (well, me anyway). Opened last night night on my iMac but won't open for me now on the PC here at work. Servers down perhaps? I hope the site hasn't closed for good. Didn't finish going through all the info. All sites I noted (but one) were all originally posted here as links by other APUG members and I would like to thank them all... so Thanks!
