Hello, I’m having a problem with my durst 1200 I jut bought and I’m not sure if it’s the counter balance spring or it alignment because putting it on was tough!
Basically , the enlarger has a slight tilt but can be pushed back in place, and I am not talking about the bellows…. It’s more or less the part the head sits on.

if anyone has a repair guide that would be useful!

Hard to say what you're experiencing, based on that description. You do know that the head can be tilted on these? I'm attaching a document that might be helpful...

If it's the carriage that doesn't sit stable on the column, though, you won't find anything in this document - but I would expect that there are rollers in there that have some sort of adjustment to take out the play without binding. Looks to me as though the cover on the carriage can be taken off rather easily to get at such an adjustment (and the attachment of the counterbalance spring), but I haven't had mine off, so I'm really just guessing, here.

Be really careful if you do go inside the carriage! That spring is scary as hell...

There might be something here. You will probably have to download and work your way through to the relevant sections showing mechanics and not electronics. Check out from page 50 of the Pictochrom & graph service manual, for example.
The L1200 chassis seems to be shared among the various models so hopefully there will be something useful.
Best of luck.

Martie, please give a link that works...

Anyway, I knew of all these links, but none got a service-manual for the L 1200 as such.

Thank you! I I misunderstood Marties's remark as a guess, but actually it was me guessing... I downloaded those manuals in the past, and looked through them and only saw periphery modules and circuits. I learned my lesson: even at downloading bulk look at each page, and at the table for content.
