I'm about out of my Adox MCC 110 VC FB paper, and the prices for 11x14 are a little dear. Is there anything cheaper that doesn't look, well, cheaper? I really like the Adox, especially for the whites, but something reasonably close (and reasonably less money) would be nice.

I really like mcc 110. That being said I'm able to get the look I want using ilford products with a little bit of work. I enjoy knowing that Ilford works hard to keep their prices competive and hopefully will still be available for a while.

I bought me some Fomabrom and Slavich paper, but I haven't used it yet. I'd like the look of these papers and I want to try lith printing with these papers this Summer for the first time.

I agree that Fomabrom is a very good paper , but from my experience Adox MCC 110 is superior. I would recommend you to try to use smaller sizes , especially when you make working prints, in order to reduce costs. If you learn to use the top quality of MCC 110 I Think you will feel it is worth the extra price.

Since we are talking about Adox paper I wanted to give a shout out to the new 112. Beautiful paper.

I might try the Arista fiber papers. People seem to like them. The beauty of the MCC 110 is that it worked for me right out of the package. No tweaks, no trial prints, no filters, just a test strip and shazam, deep blacks and white whites. If the Arista doesn't work I'll go back to the Adox because in the end it may be cheaper that way, since I don't have to figure out how to make it work.

I usually make working prints by cutting down 11x14 to 5x7s, so that saves a little. Thank you for the suggestions.

Arista FB is made by Foma, but it is different from regular Foma papers (so I've read).

Might be a systems glitch David. I recently sent a PM, and the person on the other end said that it was blank. After I typed it up again and resent it, he said that the first one had come in and it was all there.

This is why I hate computers and all things digital. I actually used to program computers (very simple things for medical surveys and the likes) and what infuriated me was when you would do everything right, and sometimes stuff just would not work. Go to lunch, come back, and it worked fine. Very epheremal sometimes, other times not.

I have never had it happen before, but this post was a straight comparison between the costs of Foma and Adox here in Berlin.

Maybe I am just paranoid but I found that it was odd that, after 1 hour of posting, it had disappeared.

Mirko (Adox and Foto Impex) is to be utterly commended for developing and bringing new products to the market and providing such a valuable resource to the analogue community in Berlin.

Maybe the German Security Service's love in with the Yanks has just spooked me - but all very odd nevertheless.

Hopefully, one of the Mods can sort it out?

Bests,

David.

Not only in Berlin. Their internet service is a great help for analogue photographers all over Europé.
