Looking for a flash to use with 21/28/35mm lenses on 35mm format, and the swc/m 21mm equiv on 6x6 (90degree field of view?)

Any hot tips would be great! thanks

I can confirm that with Lanny that the Sto-Fen diffuser when bounced of the ceiling will even cover my Tamron SP 17mm f3.5 lens, the Gary Fong Lightsphere works as well but is much more expensive.

Most modern flashes can cover this range (e.g. SB-28 or later in Nikon); it's a question of what you need from your flash.

I use the SB28. I works with just about any camera out there.

You will notice that whenever you have a wide angle lens on your camera, the image frame will include lots of background matter which is much further away than the main subject. Diffuser or not, the 1/r^2 law still applies, which means your main subject will look overflashed while the background will be dark.

The main reasons I use my diffuser is to create a mix of bounce and direct flash and to fully illuminate an umbrella used as diffuser.

no I haven't really - it's either going to be mounted on the shoe or off camera and aimed at the subject.

Thanks for the replies, i've got a bit to mull over to plan my use of the flash. thanks for the advice
