Bear in mind that EV is not a measurement of light, it's a combination of shutter speed and aperture. It only represents a light measurement when the ISO value is included.

Yet if you look at the various equivalents at EV0:

  • Sekonic at ISO 100: 250 lux, 0.23 foot-candles
  • Gossen at ISO 50: 5.5 lux, 0.5 foot-candles
  • Minolta at ISO 100: (lux not specified), 0.31 foot-candles

...I see no agreement in the above three equivalents!

This represents differences in the calibration standards each manufacturer uses.
