Thanks. Is there a version that is under $50? $136 is nice but it's a mono tool. I'd be using it for one thing.
Also check your local thrift stores; I found a medium size Logan that appears to have been used once and then donated.
There is the Logan 440-1, which is basically the straight edge with a mat knife and cutter that fits into the 40 inch straight edge, but it is $80 new, so not so much of a savings when the extra money gets you a full-blown mat cutting system.
All depends on your budget and cutting desires...
If you were local:

note: it should be "mat cutter" not "matte cutter", and that the listing is in the "Arts and Crafts" category.

Understood - but it serves as a good example.
Man, and I thought my dial calipers were inconvenient lol
These are the absolute cheapest calipers that I could find that I could get my hands on. I don't think I could have done worse, an upgrade is needed. I need something cheap simple and reliable. This was a stopgap tool. And it worked well enough.
This is what I have, it works very well and is still accurate after nearly 10 years of use. Not as convenient to read as digital, but I would be worried the digital ones would crap out after a few years.
I have emailed them several times asking about backing paper, never got a response. Can you let me know what you did to get a response?
oh my god I need this for slitting 70mm/5” film into 120/220! What is it called, and do they still make it?
get xkaes slitters on etsy. i have everything possible from 70mm to 35mm. he can let also 126/127mm (5 inch)be made(in china). no need to search for producer he is world-reseller. be aware there were two formats around.
I have also still agfa 126mm. no slitter. no cam.
if only someone could 3d-print a slitter-holder. some sort of spooler like linhof made for 70/126/127mm. to sppol down from larger cores. there was once an offer for multiples of them cheaply- i only bought one. made for darkroom. in official linhof catalogue from that time 80/90ties.
e.g. i have one and two bladed 70/61.5mm version. on the one bladed perforations if cut away on one side and can be used on rsp-120-70mm spool in cartridge to work with spacing mechanism. i have a 70-120 shim-solution to add shims onto both kodak (with clamp) and linhof(thicker core and slit)spools for 70-61.5mm difference. 3dprinting house in italy found who can send cheaply to usa.
