My sister-in-law will be heading to London for a couple days this coming weekend and I'd *really* like for her to pick up some film for me. She won't be driving, so her movement will be limited to the tube and she'll most likely spend most of her time in the major tourist shopping areas.

So...

Where can I tell her to pick up some boxes of 4x5 HP5+ for me? Also, what's the going price for them at the moment?

Directions and/or addresses would be *very* helpful.

Thanks!

APUG sponsor Silverprint (http://www.silverprint.co.uk/ - nearest Tube is Southwark) are the first that come to mind and then Process Supplies (http://www.process-supplies.co.uk - nearest Tube is Farringdon)

Both are in central London within 5 minutes walk of a Tube station and are open Monday - Friday until around 5:30pm. Neither are open Saturday or Sunday. Type their post codes in to Dead Link Removed to get their locations.

Good luck, Bob.

Waterloo station is actually much closer than Southwark to Silverprint, IME.

Take a cab. Unlike many city's, London Taxi drivers actualy know the way round & don't rip you off.

Depends. If you're already on the Jubliee line, you can just take the tube to Southwark, no problems, but if you were on the bakerloo or northern line, I'd just get off at Waterloo station and walk, following the signs to the Old Vic theatre then walk in front of the theatre, turn right, go down the road until you see the sign for Valentine Place. I'm on the Northern Line and changing to the Jubilee line at Waterloo station involves a long enough walk that it makes a lot more sense to just go above ground and walk to Silverprint.

And Transport For London's Journey Planner says it's a 10 minute walk from Southwark and a 15minute walk from Waterloo. It does what I recommend above - take Jubilee if you're already on it, eg from Green Park, but if you're on Northern line, don't bother to change to go the one stop east because it'll take you more than the extra 5 minute walk.

There's also Calumet, and they are open on Saturdays as well. The branch nearest to a Tube station is the Drummond Street one, near Euston.

(The Wardour St. branch is nearest to Tottenham Court Road Tube, and the one at The Worx is close to Parson's Green.) You could 'phone them (020 7380 1144 for the Drummond St. branch) to make sure there was stock on hand at whichever branch you wanted to use.
