Hi Stoo

Sorry, but looks like I'm not going to be in London this weekend so will have to miss out on the fun. Hope you have a good time and catch up soon.

Mike

Hi MIke

That is such a shame. I shall look forward to catching up with you in the near future.

All the very best, and enjoy your weekend.

Stoo

Hi Stoo,

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to London this weekend. I've left it until as late as possible just in case circumstances change, but as it stands at the moment I won't make it.
I was really looking forward to the weekend and meeting up with you lot, but alas it is not to be, at least not for the present. Fortunately, I haven't lost out on the hotel booking, as we were going to be staying with friends just outside. Nevermind, there's always next time...
Have fun,
Trevor.

Hi,
I just wanted to say thanks for the nice Sunday. It was really great that I could have joined you for the day. Especially, as it was on the last minute. I enjoyed the talks and you were really kind to me. If there is any stranger who wants to join the next meeting, do not hesitate. Take part. You won't regret it!
Thanks a lot to all of you. Especially to Stoo for the organisation. Have good journey back home.

Thank you Stuart for organising. It was nice to see old faces again after such a long time. I saw some amazing photography and prints at the print viewing.

Hi All

Thank you all so much for attending the London Gathering and making it the huge success that it was. It was so good to catch up with old faces and more importantly, to see fresh faces joining the fold. My apologies for being unable to respond to those of you that sent out messages to let me know that you were not going to make it, but as you can imagine I had my hands pretty much full. All the same, it was good of you to do so, and lets hope that you can attend future gatherings.

After getting settled in the hotel by late afternoon on the Friday, a few drinks were in order in the local pub, ‘The Minories’, followed by a gentle walk down to St Katherine’s Dock , taking in the views along the way. The evening meal was to be had in the ‘Mala Indian Restaurant’, and very nice it was too. I remember after leaving the restaurant we all walked around the corner , and there was the iconic view of Tower Bridge, all lit up in the still summer night, and I can tell you, a few gasps were heard, as it really did look amazing. A real hair up on the back of the neck moment.

The Saturday went very well, with the weather holding out for us. A nice stroll over Tower Bridge and along the South Bank to Borough Market, which is such a wonderful location for photography, then on to the Sebastiao Salgado exhibition, which was absolutely superb. A quick dash back to the hotel for a scrub up, followed by the Print Share, where as always, some beautiful work was to be seen. To me , the 'Print Share’ is what these gatherings are all about, as the final print is what we all strive for, so to share them with friends and hold them in our hands is such a great thing to do. Dinner was at the ‘Minories’, which was to become our local, and meeting place.

Sunday was a very relaxed affair, in which after spending a short time at St Katherine’s Dock, we took a trip on the Docklands Light Railway to Canary Wharf, and then on to Limehouse Basin, where after a gentle stroll around the water we all settled for a drink in the ‘Narrow’, the local pub. Sunday ended with dinner in the ‘Minories’, with general banter and chit chat, along with a few laughs.

All in all, I feel it was a very successful weekend, and although I would like to take all of the credit for it, we should not forget that Jon Butler put in a lot of legwork with me, and without him I feel that we would all have been lost. Unfortunately he could not make it due to family commitments.

Thank you all once again, and see you on the next one.

Cheers

Stoo

The weekend was very successful. It was nice to see some familiar and (for me) new faces. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Thanks Stoo and Jon for your efforts in organising a great weekend. Not an easy task!

What a great weekend and I enjoyed all of it!

Many thanks to Stoo for showing us around and keeping order over the proceedings The exhibition was mind-blowing and I shall remember the images for a long time to come.

A special thank you must also go to Jon Butler for his part in the organisation and it was sad that he was unable to join us, but of course perfectly understandable under the circumstances. Hopefully we shall see Jon soon at another gathering.

I am developing my films this afternoon and are looking forward to seeing what is there. Hopefully we shall soon see a selection of images on FADU and APUG from those who attended.

Hopefully this idea will become an annual event as there is so much left to be done in London

Neil.

Had a GREAT weekend

Nice to see everyone again and as well as meet a few new faces

A big, big thanks to Stoo for all his hard work in organising it, sussing out some really interesting locations and suggesting the Salgardo exhibition.

There were some very interesting portfolios passed round on Saturday night.

When I got back home I realised what a busy weekend we had all had and how the time had flown by.
