Hello guys!

I'm looking for a friendly and not too expensive darkroom to print in London.

Any suggestion? I've been told about photofusion, I still need to give it a try, but it's a bit far away from me as I'm living aldgate east.

Let me know if any of you know some lovely ones, thank you!

thank you Ian!

Photofusion seems to be very nice and does discount for early graduate which would be fantastic for me, but unluckily is a bit far from where I live.

I've been suggested four corners film (this is their website -> fourcornersfilm.co.uk) that would be much closer to me.

Any experience with this darkroom?

Some places

Hello

Photfusion has a really good darkroom for FB and RC and as it's about 30 minutes from Aldgate at the most on the tube, it's really not that far away! There are two other places I have heard of but have never been there, but I am sure are worth checking out. One in Oval, the other in Homerton/Hackney. Links here;

Of course I'm assuming you want BW. If colour, there is also Rapid Eye in Shoreditch/ Old Street run by some very nice people.

They also have BW RC facilities. Lee, the guvnor, is a good chap who is now also doing lots of teaching in colour printing to London colleges.

Hope you find somewhere to print.

Thank you very much. I'm checking the one you suggested right now  I'm looking for a black&white, but being able to print color from times to times would be very nice too.

My closer tube is Aldgate east, not Aldgate, well I can walk to Aldgate, but anyway the transport website says it's about 1h traveling to Photofusion, and since I would like to go there often it would be nice to find somewhere closer if it does exist ;-)

I was going to suggest Photoworks Westminster - right by Edgware Rd station - but I just see from their website that they have shut down

Homerton - Hackney Darkroom

Hi,

There's also a darkroom in Homerton at 178a Glyn road - look up Double Negative Darkroom on google maps

Black and white and colour machines up to 5x4.

we welcome experimental processes, liquid emulsion enthusiasts, people working with alternative processes (we have UV beds and vacuum frames) and all users of analogue processes.
