Anyone any ideas what this film is, or any experience of using it ? I'm interested that the results appear similar to the old color infra-red films....the description also refers to these films and that this new one should be stored at under 10 deg Centigrade (again like the old IR films).

It's not an IR film. It is a C41 film sensitive to visible light, but with an altered green layer that reproduces green as purple when printed. When it first appeared the marketspeak was carefully worded to suggest that it was an EIR-like IR film, while never actually claiming it.

Presumably, therefore, a specially coated film, rather than just something else repacked ?

By... InnovisCoat despite the Lomography Society and the manufacturer never actually acknowledged it.

I've shot a few rolls, but have never gotten the results seen on Lomography's website. Instead of the bright purples seen on the site, 80-90% of my images come across as muddied images.

I do enjoy shooting their LomoChrome Turquoise film which has an off-world alien quality.

I wouldn't be surprised if you need to handle the colour balancing manually. The film probably plays havoc with an automatic lab's algorithms. Never tried it myself, though.

The real problems is: How do you color balance a film that is designed to improperly balance color in the first place?
