The large format guy is made of win.

The point and shoot digital shooter holding his camera over everyone's head is made of lose.

It's curious that it didn't take any bit of attention there. How rare to see this nowadays. Press photos with a monorail, he must have some nice skill.

I wish I was good enough to be able to focus a monorail, figure the exposure, put the filmholder in, pull the darkslide out and trip the shutter before the political figure here walked away..

At the rate or political leaders change nowadays, the latest digi efforts have difficulty keeping up with them, never mind the brave soul who used LF

Maybe the photog was hoping to capture the bygone days of honest politics?

Mike (you'd never guess I'm from the UK and have become even more disillusioned by politics would you?) :D

He/she must have had quite a time moving a CC400 through the crowd with its 20-inch monorail + a very sturdy tripod. I know from experience the CC400 is in no way a hand-holdable camera!

That is funny, what's even funnier got cropped out of the image, a guy with an 11x14" wet plate camera and a woman with a 20x24" polaroid. This retro process thing has gone way too far.

Why waste sheet film on that guy :s

Nevertheless, I salute the LFer on the other side of that Linhof*.

* At least, that's what I think it is... a super technika...

Wow! My thought exactly... what a waste of perfectly good sheet film.

Ash

PS: Hats off to the LFer... that's dedication.
