Has anyone made progress in trying to make Ansco 130 in the UK ? Now that the paper had been paid for (my card was also charged) it's just about time to figure out how to make the developer :D

Can you get Glycin? Anyway as far as I have read people like it with Amidol too, or maybe more.

Well, I hope at least one of those 20 boxes of Lodima paper is still available. I finally ordered mine.

The following update is provided as a courtesy to all participants interested in this subject but whom may not be involved in the actual purchase of the Lodima test paper, but who may want to stay in the loop and possibly purchase this product at the large offering (Grade 2 and Grade 3) at the end of the year.

Dear Purchaser of Lodima Fine Art Paper

Here is an update on the status of Lodima Fine Art Silver Chloride Paper.

The paper has been boxed and is now on the ship. It is scheduled to arrive in port in the U.S.A. on November 13.

We return from Europe, where we will have a Lodima Press booth at Paris Photo, on November 18. Assuming the paper is promptly released from customs, we will be shipping the paper to you toward the end of the week of November 16 and/or the beginning of the following week.

It has been called to our attention that there have been postings on the various Internet forums from several purchasers of this paper asking where there paper is, and also asking other questions about the paper.

We ask you to contact us directly, or better yet, through the Azo Forum on our web site

rather than post those kinds of questions on the other forums.. We generally answer all emails very promptly and all Azo Forum postings come to us via email. We simply do not have the time to check the other forums on a regular basis.

We had to charge everyones' credit card when we did and deposit checks when we did in order to pay for the paper in advance. Otherwise, it would not have been shipped.

If anyone is so concerned and thinks they will not receive their paper and would like to cancel their order and receive a refund, please let us know. We are sold out of the paper and currently have a waiting list for it. In fact, if your credit card has not been charged yet, it is uncertain whether you will receive any paper from this shipment.

Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

Michael A. Smith and Paula Chamlee

Oh no, sold out...I found out too late. Anyway, I look forward to ordering in the future and congratulations on a job well done.

Lodima Paper

What is going on? Has any of the product been delivered?

I just got an email this morning:

The paper arrived in port in the U.S.A. on November 13. We returned from Europe, where we had a Lodima Press booth at Paris Photo, on November 18. We expect the paper to be released from customs sometime in the next few days. We will ship the paper as soon as we receive it.

A few of the late orders that came in may not get filled as we were sold out of the paper before that was noted on the shopping cart.

If you have any questions, we ask you to contact us directly, or better yet, through the Azo Forum on our web site Dead Link Removed.

25 sheet trial packs at large offering?

As for those that say the cost of paper at $150 is minor compared to film and equipment
Well, you cannot really make photographs without equipment
This paper is a luxury mainly for those wanting to produce the best contacts/exhibit
and when working 4x5 ..eh
Or you have to build/interneg up to 8x10 which is another skill to learn

25 sheet packs, please

I'm dedicating my entire purchase of this paper to producing a small portfolio of my Pond Scum series, I've been waiting some time just to use this paper. The entire series is 4x5 contact prints. I don't see why quality would be any less important with smaller photographs. It certainly isn't to me.

I do think you hit the nail on the head in one respect... This paper is for those who want to produce the very best prints they can.

My best prints are all 4x5 contact prints. Since you get 4 per 8x10 sheet of paper, I'll be able to make a lot of them with just this one first box.

For a while, Dan Smith was offering sample packs of Azo and amidol, which he repackaged. Maybe he'll do it again.

Alternately, you can just split a box with one or three other people. I did that once with a box of 500 sheets.

I'm not knocking 4x5 contacts there
I like their intimate nature

I just don't feel the need to spend $150 on 200 5x8 contacts when I also have to make use of other paper and recently bought enlarging equipment ..esp when I'm not showing my photography/making money from it
At this time "I" would have to learn to build negatives to really make use of the 8x10

25 sheet pack and I'd likely purchase 1 or 2 more in a years time and then if teach myself internegatives
-I have some SOwhatever film for that purpose-
a 100 sheet box

$39-$45 for 25 sheet pack

I don't see any reason not to sell a trial pack if the paper is going to be around for any real time

MAS made a post on the AZO forum about the paper, sounds like it will start shipping Monday

Which Monday?

Which Monday?

It says December 8. It is in the link.

Sun of sand,

If I remember correctly, they considered selling 25 sheet trial packs for azo, but it was just too time consuming, and they're not primarily in the business of selling paper. I'm sure you can get someone to split a box w you if you put up an add when the big run comes around, maybe even a coop so several people can pitch in for a large box and split it. Definitely give the paper a try, though, you'll see serious differences from regular paper, especially midtone separation. You can do things w silver chloride w just gray that you can't do w regular papers.

The paper arrived this morning. Thank you Michael and Paula!!!

I'll be sure to post some print scans in the gallery this weekend.
