The threads on my ring are getting tired, and have no clue where to find another. Looking for the ring that threads onto the lens to hold it in the cup on the enlarger. Any ideas on where to look for such an item would be of great help. Thanks up front.

Depends what size they are, they can be quite varied depending on the focal length. Some of my lenses like my 135mm Componon use a standard #0 Compur/Copal retaining ring, others are M39 (Leica) thread. I get my #0 rings from Ebay, a Chinese seller and they are excellent.

Most enlargers have threaded lens boards and don;t use locking rings and most lenses come without one so sourcing spares can be difficult. You need to be more specific.

Well, the smaller Beseler enlargers use locking rings… to find the ring size, spend some time on google. Most major lens manufacturers still have their discontinued lens specs posted… somewhere...

Why would the threads on the locking rings get worn? Are you constantly changing the lenses and not the lens boards? All the lenses I use are mounted, and I need only snap in a different lens board to change out. Anyway, if you need 39mm rings, I think I have a couple of spares.

Thank you for that link Matt, it is most definitely 39mm (all my Nikkors and the 135mm Rodenstock all use the same ring.)
Lemme check the bay.

Okay, so I found a 39mm locking ring. It appears to be pretty much what I have on hand, but it does say "leica mount." Does this make any difference to me, or are the leica threads different?

And yes, Rick, I have only one lens board so the ring is engaged and disengaged often. The threads weren't perfect when I got it several years ago, and they are not any better now.

I'm putting a ring in the mail for you. What enlarger are you using? How easy would it be to get a spare lens board? I also have a pair of mounts for an Omega B-66.

In theory the mounts could be a different pitch thread pitch but in practice enlarger lens manufacturers use the Leica M39 thread to mount their lenses, as he retaining rings aren't made by Leitz they can't really use the Leica name :D
