There is Warburg Nature Reserve at Bix near Henley-on-Thames that is not far from Reading and there is a small derelict church there as well. Lots of woodland around the area and a few picturesque pubs, at Stoke Row there is the The Maharaja's Well
This is a 370-foot deep well with a highly ornate wellhead cover, which includes a golden elephant under a domed canopy. It was paid for by the Maharajah of Benares (now Varanasi) in 1864.
