Should be a stunning effect when you get the exposure correct. You about to try it?

Definitely try it, but due to the infectious nature of the developing, contiguous deep blacks might be rather tricky. Let me suggest a combination of normal development and lith. I think Richard Pippin (RPippin) has been doing that of late, as well as toning to anchor the blacks.

Try the two bath SE5 or Easy Lith with the Omega intensifier. Wolfgang gives great instructions for using Omega to create max black and give enough time for the highlights to tone nicely.

Selection of paper will probably make the biggest difference. If you are looking for a clean black background, that should be fairly easy. If you are looking for a clean, neutral black with detail, that is tougher. I've found that Fomatone in selenium can give pretty good blacks. (there was a url link here which no longer exists) is an example. Slavich without toning also gives good blacks, but it is hard to get any detail in the shadows....which may be just what you are looking for. (there was a url link here which no longer exists) is a Slavich print that I like that shows this.

Here's a lith print I made against a black background. Wreaked a few sheets getting it right, but eventually got the tenuous highlights against the black I'd hoped for.

Big black print, you will save on fixer! But then lose it a few times over on selenium and gold toners.

Seems like snatch would be more difficult than when you have several elements to compare. But what the heck, it's only paper! Please share when you get something.
