Received GeloHiglod's print today.Shepsy caught mid air in a perfect swan dive off a platform into the back-lit Black Sea at sunset.Really like the reflections of light in the water. Gelo,on the notes you mention D-9,is that a Kodak formula you made from scratch or a kit?The paper from 1989 worked good for this. Have you recieved my photo yet, hope I put the correct address.

Mike

I received first print)) Mike С))) Beautiful print with a detailed description))) very interesting to see the interpretation of lith from the other end of the world) Thank you)

... I packed a picture between two plastic plates ((((sorry
This is the first photo sent by e-mail
Photo severely torn? I can send again what would I replace it?
I think the problem was that it were plates of foam plastic which are not very sturdy. It probably would have been better to put some cardboard around. But you never know ...

If you intend to send another one - I will not hold you back but I do not request it. I assume that you sent the image in perfect shape so you are not to blame. It is part of the game that you risk to get a damaged image in these exchanges. So it is up to you. I am curious how my image will arrive in Russia. My dear, 25-30 years ago, sending images from Western Germany to Russia must have been much more adventurous ...

Cheers

Today I received two terrific liths from akaa -- sailing yachts in the harbour and a fishing trawler just off the pier. Fantastic contrast and really juicy grain along with great hues in the sky. Love them, AW!

Alas, no note, but I can see that it is Kodak paper. Maybe you'd share a bit more, and maybe say where these were taken?

Thanks very much!

I apologize David, The envelopes got sealed before I was able to put in the note I had written. It is some old Kodak paper, and I used the Moersh easylith kit @ 1:30. Both of those were taken early last year at the harbor in Monterey, CA.

I was having trouble getting the sky to come in, and it didn't seem to matter how much exposure I gave it. I ended up souping it until I liked the boat and dock, then pulling it half way out and letting the horizon and sky sit a little longer.

Ghostcount, your lith of the rock formation arrived yesterday. The grittiness lith can provide is great for stuff like this. I've not used Foma 123 - is the apricot in the highlights the colour of the paper, or is it lith induced?

sly, the color is lith induced. I used Ultrafinonline's A+B developer and was surprised it worked on 123. I'm glad it arrived there safely - I just hope Joy and Andrey gets theirs also.

No, not yet. I do not know what may have happened, you sent your prints out much earlier and it should not take that long. But we have to be patient. Usually a print sent within Germany takes one or two days to arrive. But I also have an example where it took three weeks.

Today I recieved Peter's (joy) lovely lith print. The styrofoam backing didn't survive the travel from Russia. Luckily only one corner of the print is creased.

The colours of this lith are gorgeous. From gray and gritty in the foreground to lovely pink and peach in the sky. The colurs complement the scene perfectly.

I'm very impressed that you brew your own developer Peter!

Paul_c5x4's "Life is a Merry-go-Round" finally made it across the pond and to my mailbox. Thanks very much Paul, what a cool print. I really like the mood...feeling...story...whatever you want to call it. It's unfortunate that paper is no longer available.

All prints sent and received now. Thanks everyone. And a big thanks to Chris for organizing.

I received Joy's (Peter) print today. It's wonderful and like Lilly's comment, the colors are fantastic. I'm also impress with a home brewed lith developer. The foam survived the transit.

Thank you so much!

Hi Paul - My apologies. I received your print a few weeks ago and should have acknowledged this. Been a bit busy and pre-occupied lately with birth of a grandchild a week ago.
I liked the photo and the slightly 19thC feel it had with the attendant's dress and also the rhythmic swirl of the blurred horses. Also the paper finish and tone was quite distinctive. Something very different from each of my group. Thanks again.

Didn't know if there was a sub-group for exchange prints within the gallery, so I uploaded a scan to the (there was a url link here which no longer exists) last weekend.

Mike, the way you did your print is perfect for that subject. I like it a lot. You can try for a smoother approach, but I doubt that you can make it any better than it is now.

Thanks again and cheers
