The groups

Hi

We are 14 participants, so this ends up in 2 groups of 4 and 2 groups of 3 people. The alternative would have been 2 groups of 5 and 1 group of 4 but it seems that groups of 3 or 4 are more welcome.

My daughter Judith helped me with the groupings and did the cap-job. And what a good job she did, there were only two people in the same group who also shared a group last time (yes Mike, it happened again ) So I changed place with Ian (Stan160).

Please exchange addresses via PM and send your prints no later than January 31st 2009.

Here we go:

Group 1
mikeg
mrtoml
Stan160
Wolfgang Moersch

Group 2
mooseontheloose
Pete H
rst
sly

Group 3
Mark Fisher
Paul Cocklin
semeuse

Group 4
bdial
keeds
Travis Nunn

I hope this is OK with everybody.

Cheers
Ruediger

Looks good Ruediger! Thanks for organizing this.

The semester is winding down so I'll finally be able to put in some real darkroom time in the upcoming weeks. I'm really looking forward to seeing other lith prints in the flesh (in the fiber?) other than my own.
However, it's been a good 6 months since I've done any printing so hopefully it won't take me too long to get back into the swing of things.

Got my prints in the mail today. Seems like we have quite a few eager beavers in this exchange. I thought I'd be the first one to post, but I've been bested by Paul and Travis.

I received Lillians beautiful print yesterday. I like it and I think I will have to try that paper at some time. Because of the dark background you managed that the highlights in your print seem to be whiter than the creamy paper base.

Sorry about that, but I will not have much time before Christmas. My prints will be done in the week after Christmas and I will send them out early in January.

Cheers

I received a very nice print from Paul this week. It was taken in Bodie, CA and printed on Ilford Multigrade warmtone. It was nice to see a sample on that paper since there seems to be wide opinion on whether it is good for lith. It looks like it makes a nice. but subtle, lith print. Thanks, Paul.
I mailed mine out on Sunday so they should be in your hands this week.

Sent my prints out yesterday. It's a sad state of the world when it's cheaper to mail prints to Norway and Germany than it is to a fellow Canadian.

I received Paul's print yesterday. I agree with Mark. Beautiful subtle effect. And a great subject for lith. Nice work Paul.
My prints are going out today.

Is it slower in Canada too? My print got to Germany. Has it made it to Kamloops yet? It's only a ferry ride and a day's drive away!

Hey sly,

Don't know -- I had to come back to Manitoba for my grandmother's funeral, so I'll be picking up my mail once I get back after Christmas. Something to look forward to!

Everyone in my group got a different print (but all on the same paper, same chemistry, same dilutions). The theme was places that I've travelled to.

Rachelle, sorry to hear about your Grandmother. Hope your family is coming together with love and mutual support. It's always hard to let go of a family member. Lillian

Received Semeuse's (Kris) print today, an absolutely fantastic print on Slavich Unibrom 160. Kris, I gotta tell you I LOVE this print, thank you so much. When I saw the image posted in the gallery, I have to admit I was hoping this would be the one I'd get. I've ordered a 25 sheet pack of the Slavich already to see what I can do with it. Thanks again, it's become one of my favorite prints!

Today Lillian Sly's beautiful "Matsutake" arrived. The highlights are so delicate and the paper choice is perfect. I'll have to try Chamois now. Thank you Lillian!

My prints are printed but I doubt whether I'll get to a post office before Christmas.

Happy Christmas all!

Pete

Paul

I received Kris' print today and it is a really nice and interesting print. I tried unibrom in Maco/Rollei and had a hard time getting anything useful. I'll need to try again. I think it is really interesting that the three prints in our group have such drastically different looks. It is a real testiment to how versitile lith can be!

Received Mark's prints today (he sent 2! Thanks Mark! ). One is a very cool shot of harness traces on a horse (fantastic composition!) and the other is a very cool shot of exhaust ports on a space ship! Mark, you really do have a wonderful eye for composing images. All three of the prints I've received will get matted and framed, and hung on a wall that will be dedicated for print exchange prints. Thanks to both of you for the wonderful prints!
