Silke S and bluejeh. I don't remember a change in the groups, will check my PM's.

All that's there are the addresses of the other 2 in my group.

Well, based on PMs I think bluejeh moved to our group and andreios to yours? We're still waiting to hear from Andrey to confirm everything.

Group 1: (still the same I think)
anikin
paul_c5x4
Andrey.Gorshkov

Group 2: (changes)
silke s
bluejeh (moved, now with megzdad81 and mooseontheloose)
sly

Group 3: (changed, bluejeh asked to move to our group, I think we assumed andreios moving to group 2 to keep groups even)
megzdad81
andreios (moved? with sly and silke s?)
mooseontheloose

Sly, if you've sent your prints and no one else has sent prints from groups 2 and 3 perhaps it's better to stay with the original groupings?

Would appreciate any other thoughts and opinions from others in the exchange as well.

My prints are in the mail. Lets hope they arrive soon. Happy holidays everyone!

Duly arrived in one piece and not a hint of damp this time - An interesting view of a waterfall and memorial.

I have been struggling to get some decent colours out of the Foma papers (suffering long dev times and chronic fogging issues). What dilution are you using the LD20 at ?

Lith print exchange round 10 - groups

Hello folks
See below, Andrey asked me to change and I thought he would write to the appropriate people. Guess he is busy just like the rest of us.
I have received Sly's Lith print but have not yet opened it. Because I would like to receive as much feedback as possible--I'm a new lith printer--I hope you don't mind if I send both groups my image when I get them printed.... I will send to Silke S, Megzdad81, Mooseontheloose, and sly. thanks so much, and hope everyone has a lovely season of celebration. bluejeh

I use just plain vanilla 1:1:20. But I use it hot. I heat up a gallon of distilled water in the microwave and pour into a tray that sits over a dish warmer plate. Foma has a rather slow emulsion, so it needs quite a bit of exposure. The first few sheets through the developer are not very colorful, but it gets more pinkish by the third or fourth sheet. However, Tim Rudman reported that Foma reformulated their papers last year, and they lost their lithability. I'm still using my old stock, so don't know how the new once behaves.

Eugene.

Andrey lives in Kiev. With the recent developments there, the lith exchange is probably the last thing on his mind...

Andreios, I'd be glad to exchange with you too. Anyone else? The lith exchange is my favorite. Never too many lith prints.
I doubt I'll get into the darkroom before Christmas, but if you don't mind waiting until the New Year, I'll print up something new.

Will have mine in the post tomorrow once I have them bagged and tagged.

Ah, ah, ah! What a beauty! The print "A day in the park" arrived today just in time for Christmas. I suspect this is going to be the best present I get this year! The colors on this Kentona paper are just amazing! I love the image and how well it is complemented by the yellow-peach colors brought out by lith development. It is a real beauty! It's so sad one cannot buy such a beautiful paper anymore.

But now everything good and my prints are ready. Today I'll send them!

In Kiev everything fine, "Maidan" still alive, peoples on it still fights for his rights.

My first print arrived from andreios yesterday, combining two of my favorite elements: infrared film and lith. Thanks Andrej!

I hope to get to work on my prints in the next few weeks...it's the end of semester for me, so there's a lot of grading and other work I need to catch up with before I can tackle anything else.

I received a lovely print from Andreios too. A weathered piano. Hope you will share it in the gallery, so others can admire it too.
I've got your package all done up, Andreios. It should get to the mail tomorrow.

Received a wonderful small print this morning, I'll not say too much lest I spoil the surprise for anikin.

Andrey: You were not far off with "hot glazer" - It is sometimes referred to as "ferrotyping" over here. I've tried it a couple of times, but without any success.

Silke, came back from a week away, to find your lovely print waiting for me.
Love the back story, and the thought that must have gone into making the image.
Thank you.

i am working hard on wasting paper and chemicals. There are about 15 prints in the basement ranging from poor to almost, and I think I needed to spend less time in the selenium toner or not at all. But no two look alike--significantly! The first print came out well, and then everything went to hell--after one print! Then, after several weekends of struggling and a LOT of paper and chemical, I caught my timer completing a 90 second exposure in 25 seconds. That explained a lot. Now I'm waiting for more chemistry, with some toner other than selenium.

Now I am trying some old Sterling Lith paper I bought before the factory burned and cadmium was banned. They have started out with beautiful colors but the toning in the selenium and print drydown has drained it away. Anyhow, I'm getting closer to done. Maybe will complete this weekend, but have to work much overtime too.

i did receive a very nice print from Andreios about three weeks ago. It appeared to have been posted 1/2/14, so that's a really long ride ...

Hi everyone,

That's funny, I was thinking about this exchange when your message popped up Judy!

To everyone in my group, I am likewise very sorry for being late on the exchange -- I moved in March and have been struggling with many things, including setting up my darkroom (!) and getting myself sorted out at my new job. But things seem to have settled down now and I hope to get printing in the darkroom this month, with prints going out by the end of May/early June.
