It is unfortunate that the criteria for this list expressly excludes labs in Canada ("If you know any other labs in the USA or overseas") :whistling:

But if it didn't exclude Canada:

ABC: http://www.abcphoto.com/index.jsp (website is not completely up-to-date)

The Lab: Dead Link Removed

CustomColor: http://www.customcolorprolab.com/ (location hasn't been fully updated on the website).

All are in Vancouver BC and, as I understand it, regularly receive a fair bit of work through the mail

My post was more for the average person to find some choices for mail in film service but if you want a Kodak ProLab search here.

Knowing Kodak however some of the labs may no longer exist but are still listed on their site.
By that I mean how Kodak makes the last batch of a film and then waits a year to announce that is all gone from the Kodak warehouse.

Any idea which of these labs offer dip and dunk? I'm especially interested in Colourworks in Wilmington, its driving distance for me. The only lab left here in DC is awful. Thanks!

I have never used them but was surprised to see on the web site they say they offer 2-4 HOUR E6. Many labs today will only do one or two E6 runs a week. So maybe they do a lot of it and I would suppose that means they do it well as today who would continue to send their E6 to a lab that gives poor results?

The link has a contact phone number. Give them a call and see what they have to say. That way you will at least know if the web site is up to date on the E6 turn around time.

Brian- I've used them for as long as I can remember. Always first rate work and service.

Dodge/Chrome still does excellent, if pricey and a little slow, work.

Another lab in New York City that still does multiple formats of C-41 and E-6:

I had high hopes for Colourworks. I sent them an e-mail with a couple questions about their services. I've heard nothing back (been over a week). I'm not sure I want to deal with a lab that doesn't answer e-mail.

I'm looking into Dodge/Chrome now. I was nervous that their services were so diversified, as I like the idea of a dedicated analog wet lab. But people seem to like them, so we'll see...

Almost all remaining labs that offer wet darkroom services are highly diversified - the volume isn't there anymore to just offer d&p.

I've been compiling a list of photo labs and public darkrooms on my website. I have about 110 catalogued across the United States currently. They were all operational as of about 2 weeks ago, and I plan on tracking changes to that over time to help ensure that the list stays current. Also, I'd love help adding anything I might have missed to the list, too!

thanks,
Aaron

Great Site you have.

I did note that there are labs posted (with links) in this thread that are not on your list.
See if you can add them to your site.
I like the fact that your site is easy to search by location.

Keep up the good work!

Does anyone know of a lab that offers C-41 and black and white processing AND optical printing AND high-quality scanning (such as with a drum scanner or Imacon or Noritsu) in the Midwestern US?

Is there a way to know for a sort of fact, which company is budget friendly yet remains strictly quality, when it comes to just developing 120 film, mailed to and fro, and in or near California? xD I'm lazy. :/
