How light sensitive is the Platinum/Palladium emulsion? Can the paper be coated in daylight, away from direct sunlight/UV rays? I am planning on trying a platinum/palladium in a couple of weeks and was curious to know how the light sensitivity compares to other methods, such as cyanotype, gum dichromate, van dyke, and salter paper prints.

Pd/Pt is more sensitive than cyanotype, so I would avoid day light. Incandescent lights would be best.

Many years ago, when I took a workshop with Dick Arentz and Mark Nelson we coated in a large school room illuminated by indirect daylight from many, many windows about 17 feet off the floor; no problems. Personally, though, I'd avoid any daylight or any light source suspected of emitting UV.

Thank you! I knew that incandescent would be ok. I suppose I can always try it with a test strip. i appreciate the help.
