I recently purchased a new 905 SWC and am now faced with the need for a light meter. My 503cw has a PME45, and the TTL/OTF metering has spoiled me. In order to use my D40 flash with the SWC, what type of hand held light meter should I consider? I looked at the Sekonic 558R, but it seems so, umm, digital. Is it possible to get away with using a simple analog meter? My PME is set to spot metering, so I am used to, and enjoy, being able to spot off a face from 20 feet. The real question is, if I am seen using a digital meter, will fellow APUG members snicker behind my back?

Yes, but only if you actually look like your avatar.
