Maybe this is just internet noise. However, most commentaries and reviews of the Zeiss lens on the Ikoflex get high marks. Maybe yours is not collimated or adjusted correctly?
I'm guessing the cemented doublet on the Ikoflex is off. Just a guess. Now that I'm thinking about it, IIRC the front elements are fixed as well. One of these days I'll take the lens apart and really look at it. Or maybe shoot a laser through it and see if it is off. It is just a fun camera for me, and one I keep around so I don't buy a Rolleiflex again. I probably only use it maybe once every two or three years.

I don’t blame you. Those lotto numbers in my fortune cookies have always been BS.
You should toss out everything you have that is made in China. But if you bought an Iphone 14, I’ll take it.
As for Light Lens Lab, I‘m really looking forward to their upcoming Super Panchro Cooke 50mm f2 lens.
Very cool.
Light Lens Lab Seagull TLR Upgrade Project
Hello everyone! As the oldest camera manufacturer in China, Shanghai Seagull Camera has been synonymous with Chinese photographic history and pride. We excitedly announce the development of the Seagull Twin-Lens-Reflex camera upgrade program. The seagull upgrade project will apply to Seagull 4...lightlenslab.myshopify.com
Funny enough, I think I have exactly one Chinese made camera. Maybe.
I don't use an Iphone, I do use Chinese products all the time but refuse to eat anything manufactured there if I can help it. 'Gutter oil' shudder.
These upgraded Seagulls are going to be mighty expensive I assume. Good luck fellas.
"Whoa" on the political comments folks.
Folks......I keep getting contacted by guitar companies about posts that have trademark violations. Please don't post about any instrument that breaks intellectual property rights (see Rule 4 in the TGP rules). Whether you agree or not, building these guitars is illegal and, in my opinion, is unethical. It doesn't matter what country they are made in. It's your business what you purchase and I'm not going to tell anyone what they can and can't buy. However, once it is posted on TGP, it becomes a problem. Your help in this would be most appreciated.
Edited to add: I have received a number of PMs and wanted to address the questions here. Asking if a guitar is genuine is fine. That is different from posting a "look at what I have" type of post about a guitar that uses another company's trademarks. The problem that leads companies to contact TGP is more based on people posting "Look at my new guitar" or "Here is my replica guitar being built" threads. We also tend to be contacted when someone tries to sell a guitar that illegally uses another company's trademarks.
We do not look for things like this and realistically can't. With thousands of posts every day, we tend to respond to reported posts or when we are contacted by a company. For example, Gibson is very aggressive in looking for intellectual property violations, including their trademarks for headstock shape, use of "Gibson" or "Les Paul". We are NOT experts on trademarks and don't pretend to be. We simply follow our legal and ethical obligations when contacted by an authorized representative of a company. So you can't post an experience (good or bad) with cameras or accessories if made in China? Or mention a name of a specific company?
I think we can tell when someone is complaining about certain product made in certain country, whether it is based on questionable intent, or whether it is genuine.
For example, the image qualities of the latest lenses from 7Artisan and TTArtisan are excellent, and the prices are ridiculous. Now we might want to find out why it's so low cost. That would be a legit question too.
You won't know for sure until you find one with tiny finger prints on the inside glass.
Many people are reluctant to buy Chinese made products and I can't figure out why. I have used Shanghai GP-3 film and have found it to be one of the best films on the market today! Bar none! I have read on the internet that it is used on high altitude weather balloons to record their trips in high resolution. Anyway back to regular programming.
Why would you want that to be 'cheap'?
Because I already can't afford a Rolleiflex.
