Life of a salt print

What is the concensus for the life of an un-toned but correctly washed – fixed – washed salt print when hung on display in a domestic environment without full sunlight falling on it at any time during the day?
I have been gold toning mine but I'm really not sold on the rather heavy blue/black result – I prefer nearer the original brownish colour.

There are still plenty of mid 19c. salt prints in great shape, including some made by Fox Talbot. If they're adequately fixed and washed (and printed on a high quality rag paper), I don't see why they shouldn't last a few hundred years. I've seen both toned and untoned vintage prints in fine condition.
