Hello all,

I invite you to visit our new web site at:

www.deardorffcameras.com

Many of you may know of us through eBay where we have been active under the username "Attrevida" since the year 2000. Back in 2009, we purchased the remaining inventory of John M. "Jack" Deardorff, including a treasure trove of parts, equipment, tooling, blueprints, original literature, original photos (*including the illustrations from the book "Corrective Photography), hand tools, power tools, screws, nuts, bolts, and hardware. In short, we bought the mother lode.

Then, in 2010 we also acquired the US Trademark to the name "LF Deardorff & Sons, Inc." We had been pursuing this for a few years before Jack's inventory became available, so it all worked out to be perfect timing.

For the past few years, we have sold mostly parts and accessories, with a few new cameras assembled from old stock. Now, we are back in full production and are currently accepting pre-orders for a "Limited Edition" run of fifteen brand new 8x10 cameras as well as another fifteen brand new 4x5 Special cameras. Each will come with a standard reversible spring back (*your choice of 4x5 / 5x7 for the Special). They will also come with three lensboards, either undrilled or drilled to your specifications. They will also come with a lensboard adapter that will allow the use of Linhof Tech V lensboards without modification.

Our web site has been up only one month, and we've had over 4000 visitors. We've taken orders on 3 of the fifteen 8x10 cameras and 5 of the fifteen 4x5 cameras.

Within the month, look for an ad in "View Camera Magazine." In October, we'll be covered in Conde Nast Travel Magazine, Taiwan edition. And, our web site will continue to grow throughout the year.

If you need parts, get in touch with us. We have thousands (*literally) of new old stock parts, some going back to the very early days. We also provide a full range of repair & restoration services.

We are dedicated to maintaining the same level of craftsmanship as the old Chicago company. And, we use only American made parts that are either original Chicago parts or new parts made identical to the old Chicago designs.

So, let us hear from you. We'll always value your input.

Thanks,

Barry & Monica Cochran

Glad you are back!

Just FYI your web master's choice of using flash excludes us iPad guys and gals.

Given IMO he/she is not doing you any favors with that choice.

I think Apple is the one not doing you any favours

So if you were building a web site to promote your business would you knowingly make it hard for as many as 1/4 of your possible customers to see your content?

Seems like that would be a pretty silly business decision to me.

After I got my iPad, I hooked a chain to my PC and now use it for a boat anchor. The best thing about it is being free from Flash crap..EC

That Flash Krap infuriates me, I turned it off.

If some hotshot web designer can't design a website without appealing to a pack of attention deficit juveniles, I don't need their product.

We'll see what we can do to accommodate that "25% out there" who can't view our web site. We don't want to lose 25% of our potential sales, that's for sure. Remember, the web site is brand new and still under development. In the meantime, if any of you can't view the site and need additional information, even if we need to send you info by email or snail mail, we'll take care of you. Just email us or call!

If that's not true already it will be soon. I think the tablet market is about to find its wings, and although I have never been much of an Apple fan my wife's ipad really is great. Far better than any other tablet I've looked at.

Wow! Deardorff is back and somehow we manage to turn this into a discussion about fruit (I don't wan't to call them by their name, in case I mistakingly spread the work....hmmmm, instead, lets call them Lemon).

Nice to see someone picking up where others have left off! Sure, I am not in a position to buy such nice camera's, but when I am....

Cheers

BTW happy they might be back... worried it could be just in name. John Deere lawn equipment isn't what it was 15 years ago, as is the same story with many brands.
