For decades I have wanted a Deardorff camera, primarily because it was made in Chicago, the city of my birth and the city of my mother’s birth. This thread pointed me to the Deardorff store on eBay where I was able to purchase two original “Made in Chicago” Deardorff nameplates.

Someday I will attach these nameplates to a pair of brand new “Made in Tennesee” Deardorffs.

Thank you!

I'm not an iPad guy and I disagree with Apple policy of banning Flash, but I still think a all-Flash website is not a good idea. If you use the capabilities of Flash, then fine, but that website does not. If it were me, I'd redo the site in HTML. However, I think if someone is seriously considering buying such a camera, I doubt the website will put them off. I wish you the very best of luck.

IMHO, the most annoying Websites out there are done with Flash. When I go to a Website, I want simplicity, directness, cleanliness, and ergonomics. The least important thing to me is the eye candy. And if there is a compatibility issue with many devices, as a business, it must be addressed.

It is nice that you are making new cameras -- what amazes me is that you have parts for some really old cameras and this is great. Ask for a part for a new techno anything that is older than half the fingers on your hand and you are SOL. Congratulations to you.

Since my girlfriend already hates me for carrying one Deardorff around, I think another would result in murder or separation. I can only look on with envy.

I have, however, sought Barry's help in restoring my camera. I would say that his knowledge of the camera and the support he offered were outstanding.

Looking forward to seeing one of the new generation cameras in the flesh one day.

Barry,
I am extremely pleased to hear this news! I again am sorry for the incident concerning the Commercial Ektar lens.
The front standard nuts worked perfectly! I hope the check I sent covered all costs.
I hope that one day we might do business again.

Good luck with the Deardorff adventure,

Sweet! They still even have the same look....I think.
Site spazzed out when I clicked on links though. Might just be my flash not working quite right, but I thought I may as well point it out.
Want one of your 8x10s so badly.
Good luck!

Ditto. I'm pretty sure it was accessible a week or two ago, maybe they're updating their website and locking out folks in the process via brute-force...? Wild guess-

Any chance of immediate sellouts of hyper-pricey 4x5 and 8x10 view cameras?
