What's the coverage on a 159mm Wolly?

Steve

Mine covers 8x10 with some movements and another apugger in NZ sent me a 5x12 negative which had been shot with one and it seemed to cover, though the corners may have been a bit soft (don't recall at this moment and the neg is at home).

You do realize that your bride probably won't appreciate your having any mistresses, unless you live in certain parts of Utah or Arizona.

Damn! I was planning on a haram!

However, this might be one of the few times we would ask you to post images of the two of you consummating the relationship.

How about a threesom with my Nikon SLR and Voigtlander RF? (My Zeiss Ikon is too old)

Thanks, I love wide angles and I've been looking for one for an 8x10. This just may be the ticket. Guess I need to contact Jorge and see if he's still selling his.

lens has arrived!

The 210mm G-Claron Dagor that I purchased from Jim Galli arrived today! (hey Jim why so slow in shipping, I bought it a whole 96 hours ago! :D ) It is beautiful and I publically thank him for it and the speed and care with which it was shipped! As they say on ebay I would buy from this seller again!

Now I need the camera which Matt Miller posted today; I'm gonna set a lawn chair out by the mailbox and sit there until it comes!

Might be a bad plan if you lived in Alabama! Thanks for the nice words. I know you're going to enjoy your kit!

Well, he says rubbing his hands together, now that the $$ is winging it's way to Matt for my 1st. 8x10, its time to consider my first lens! According to the wonderful advice in Using The View Camera, I should go with what I'll be shooting--landscape--and what I like in other formats--love my wides 21mm-35mm in 35mm format-- I think that puts me in the +/- 200mm range.

Q1. Am I correct about the focal length?

Q2. The range of lenses/prices is even more bewildering than the cameras! If I have a budget of $200.00 for a lens (perferably in shutter) What should I be looking for?

I had such great luck with the APUG wanted board, I'll be going there with my decision. (of course this post could easily be read as a "wanted" )

I am a recent big !!! fan of the G-Claron lenses. I just put together a 240 for about $230. Bought a barrel lens with haze off Ebay (wiped right off) and a used copal 1 shutter.

All the G-Claron lenses I have used are super sharp.

Here are a couple of shots.

A 3000 dpi crop from the center of my 8x10 with 240 G-Claron and a 4x5 foot resized test image. BTW both of these are drum scans.

This one is a huge file at original size.

I also like the G-Claron lenses. I have three of them, a 210, a 240, and a 355. I also have a 420 Repro-Claron that I really like too.

My best friend lives in Mobile.

Have you heard from your friend? Here in the NE we don't have much experience with hurricanes, certainly not of such destructive power. Hurricane Floyd of some years back did he us causing some "minor" flooding locally. We have friends whose first floor was flooded with 3 feet of water. I brought my Boy Scout troop over the next day to help with clean-up. I can't imagine what it must be like in areas that really get hit.

Which G-Claron do you use the most?
