I am selling a Leotax K Leica thread mount (LTM) rangefinder in very good condition. The Leotax K was Showa's version of the Leica IIf (in a manner of speaking). It supports X-sync and B-sync flash and lacks a slow speed shutter dial (once considered an economy measure, this now enhances its simplicity, reliability, and adds a certain essential elegance in my view). The shutter speeds are: B, 25, 35, 50, 75, 100, 200, and 500.
This camera is right out of the shop with a professional servicing. The shutter works at all settings. Both shutter curtains are clean and smooth with no evident damage. The viewfinder and rangefinder optics are clear. The range finder patch is bright and the rangefinder appears perfectly aligned and accurate.
Cosmetically the camera is also in very good condition for its age. There is one small corner patch of deteriorating leatherette just under the rangefinder window on the front of the camera. There is a tiny ding evident on a top plate corner just above the rangefinder window.
The serial number is 25252, and this is fairly "late" Leotax production, and a later version of the K model. Made with precision in Japan. This is a wonderful camera!
Sold as shown with a take-up spool.
Price: $140 plus insured shipping
