de Golden Busch lenses will cover a 16x20 - if you can find them. They're no longer made, but sometimes you see them for sale, usually at a hefty price.

(look at the bottom of the page)

I once owned two of them, the 482mm and the 1012mm (or whatever mm it is) and they easily covered my 12x20. However, they're big,
bulky and hard to filter. They were made by Mells Griot.

gclaron 355 or fuji 600 c

im looking at a fuji 600mm c or glcaron 355 for the 16x20 format.

anyone using either of these lenses with this format + movements? any preference? will the 600 cover more movements than the 355 for close-up copy work?

technical specs would be helpful. image circle at various f stops...

thanks

This issue will be driven more by the length of bellows you have to work with under macro conditions than anything. Generally speaking you would be better served by the 355 G Claron because of its shorter focal length. Plus the G Claron is a repro lens to begin with.

Good to know that the 366 G Claron, 450Nikkor, and 600C will cover 14x17 as I have these lenses and currently constructing a camera. "Pinhole" is another option.

Andrew, you don't need any more glass! You are right the lens group you have is just fine. Mine are the 19' and 24' Artars and I do have the 610 Nikkor just for a big honkin' lens. Oh, my 16" Darlot will cover at portrait distances..... I think.

The 210mm covers 12x20? Wow, that is good to know.

For ULF the only two true lenses currently being produced are the big buck Schneider XXLs one is 550mm and the other is 1100 if my memory is working correctly.

I only use 12x20, like Michael. I use a Fuji 600C, a Fuji 450mm CMW (not the little 450mm C), and a Schneider 355mm G-Claron. I am lusting for a 210mm Schneider Super Symmar XL which covers 12x20 and some say up to 16x20, also am after a 30 inch or 35 inch RD Artar.

Hope it helps.

Gary

I've used the Super Symmar XL 210 a fair bit on an 8x20 and it is a stretch to get any movements, it vignettes easily. Don't know about a 12x20 but experience with the 8x20 indicates it would be barely possible, if at all.
