Lensbaby - Lensbabies 3G for Pentax 67

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone out there has or has tried out the Lensbabies 3G for the Pentax 67 (or with adapter on the Pentax 645)? I am picking one up tomorrow (nice price) and have always wanted to try one out.

From looking at the Lensbaby site, it doesn't seem like they're made for the MF Pentaxes, just the K mount (35mm). Any adapter will put the larger format lenses on the next smaller camera, but not usually the other way around because the lens for the smaller format won't cover the film size of the larger one.
Do they have them and just don't list them on their site? 'cause I do think it would be cool to play with on the larger film.

Hi Bethe,

I called them this morning to ask some questions about it and they indicated that they no longer make them for Pentax 67 and Mamiya 645. They are still listed at some of the internet retailers though. I have been contemplating trying one for 35mm for a while (a little more affordable as they come up used quite often), but jumped at the chance to try one on a Pentax medium format body. I still get to play with it on 35mm with some adapters too.

Well I picked this up today. It looks and feels a lot more solid than I anticipated, nicely made and finished. I also got the wide and tele converters as well as the close up filters and the creative aperture inserts. I also went ahead and purchased a Pentax 6X7 (no MLU) with TTL prism just this minute (will ship out today). I previously owned one, but sold it after I sold my 35mm and 75mm Shift lenses for it (I do regret selling those lenses, especially now). I will try and take some images soon and post some images of the whole setup.

Looks like B&H as well as Adorama have dropped the price by about $100 on these.

I need to send in my 6x7 to get the foam replaced, so no results yet, unless I purchase a 67 lens - 645 body adapter.

Hi Noor,

I have not had the chance to work with the lens baby yet. I will likely send in my 67 for re foaming next week. New contract, so less time to try this out right now.

Just mounting on the 67 and tripod and experimenting a bit with it - it is a very different 'feel' for me and will take some time to get used to. I am accustomed to taking and viewing images that are as sharp as I can make them, so this is a significant shift for me to undertake. Some of the results I have seen by others using similar gear is very, very nice - this is what led me to go this route.

Lens, Baby!

I have one that I adapted to my Hassy 2000 FCM and like the look a lot. To my eye, the lensbaby effect works better on the square format. Some samples are on my flickr page. Search for member ericpg.

the latest series of lenses includes a meniscus with "sink strainer" apertures ..
it is pretty inexpensive .. and if it sounds familiar, it was modeled after the
classic - rodenstock imagon.
