Lens of my Omega c700 is stuck

i've literally tried VERY hard to twist this lens off, and it wont barge. any ideas please?

by the way, it's a rodengar 50mm lens

Try wrapping a heavy rubber band around the lens. It is amazing how much extra leverage this gives.

In addition to the rubber band, use something thick, like a towel, to give you more leverage.

How is the lens attached to the lens board? Is there a retaining ring on the back of the board, or is the board itself threaded and the lens screwed into that?

If it's cross threaded you've got a problem.I use latex kitchen gloves for extra torque.
Has anyone,besides myself,tried putting something like this in the freezer? In a last ditch attempt to free a jammed filter I fired it into the freezer for an hour and it came off with little effort.

Yeah, if it's anything like the lens board for my Omega, there's a 39mm retaining ring on the back that needs to be unscrewed.

The lensboards for the 700 series are plastic and are threaded. If the suggestions for added torque don't help I would cut the lensboard with a box cutter or something like that. I don't think new lensboards are all that expensive. Or if you are trying to pull it out to put in another lens why not just buy a new lensboard for the new lens?

Did you attach the lens or did you get it this way? Could be if you got it this way someone used locktight or something like that on it.

Don't know if this will help, but may be worth a try. It has worked for me.

Most of the metal in lenses is brass. The lens board is steel or aluminum. Since these metals have different rates of expansion/contraction, a little heat will expand one faster then the other.

Set the lens on your coffee hot plate for 1/2 minute and try to loosen it. If you think you need more heat after the first attempt, let it cool completely before heating again.

But only if there is no retaining ring.

The C700 does not have a removable lens board and is threaded. If the lens is not cross threaded, then the extra torque from the rubber bands, the towell, plus a kitchen tool for opening tight jar lids should work. Just make sure you have the tool on the lens body, not the aperture ring.

yeah before i had this info, i was twisting on the aperture ring and definitely screwed that up. oh well, i don't shoot much 35mm anyways. but i'll try some of these ideas
