Lens hood for Mamiya-Sekor TLR 80mm f2.8....

I checked over Ebay as well as Keh. They are a bit pricey. I don't need a metal one. Plastic one is fine. Are there cheaper alternatives??? Thanks...

The problem of using any other one is that it can obscure the viewfinder through the viewing lens. It's more than twenty years since Mamiya TLR stuff was manufactured and these items are becoming rare.
Sometimes if you really need the equipment you have to bite the bullet and pay the going price.

I have been looking over at Ebay. I would consider $47 to $50 pricey. Keh has one at BG condition for $27.

Also, I just bought the 80mm lens off Ebay from Keh for $90. For me to pay $50 for a hood is a bit.....pricey...

I have used a metal 46mm screw in lens hood. I think the brand was Kalt. It worked fine, no vignette.

Be sure you know if the one you're buying is for the Chrome or the Black lens. The size changed!

Accessories for MF gear in general seem to be expensive. I waited for a year to find a sanely priced hood for my Bronica 75mm and expect it to take about as long for one for the 50mm I bought a couple of weeks ago. Annoying as I've come to like the look of the camera with a lens hood, quite apart from the optical and lens protection benefits. The big square hood on the 75mm and the long circular one on the 150mm/200mm look like you mean business.

I think I would try a 46mm threaded hood to see how it goes.

I often use a 46 to 52 step up ring, and then use a common rubber 52mm lens hood. It folds back for storage and I can use my 52mm Nikon filters, works with the 55mm as well but with a Nikon HN-1 screw in hood.
