Yeah, I know about Caltar. They were made by Rodenstock, Schneider, Topcon and Ilex that I know of.

Yeah, there was the 375mm Ilex (Paragon? Accuton? sumthin' like that) that which even Karsh, the famous Commercial Ektar-ista, found to his liking, IIRC

Aren't those also in an Ilex shutter?

I had a 6.3 Osaka 360 in Copal 3S for a time that I thought was just lovely. I never liked the C. E. that much.

That was my guess at the time. It was an enjoyable lens.

Message to the OP. People obsess about shutter speeds. Take a look at my web pages. Thousands (literally) of images made with a Packard shutter and a black hat. Just write down what the shutter's doing on a piece of white sticky and go make pictures.

Jim, I like my shutters to work properly or what is the point? Having said that, I have lenses with particular speeds that are so far off, I don't even use them. I just work around the problem speed. I also shoot a lot of people, especially children, and I like to have speeds that are faster than the "hat" range. I do use that method with some lenses.
