Now that SK Grimes doesn't do lens de-/re- cementing and Focal Point/John Van Stelten is closed for good, who do you recommend? Thanks!

Looking forward to some advice here. I haven’t been able to find anyone.

One company that is still in the lens business is Schneider Kreuznach, about four years ago they gave me a quote to service a Symmar at their California operation for Century cine optics, they quoted US$270 for lens service at that time. Searching online today I was not able to come up with anything for them, perhaps they have closed? The Schneider USA operation has a website that reverts back to the German HQ website.
I did find a dealer list for Schneider Century cine lenses here https://schneiderkreuznach.com/en/cine-optics/distribution/america and I also found this operation in Van Nuys CA who work on cine lenses https://www.focusoptics.com/contact

Good Luck

Basically each lens workshop that does small runs or prototypes would be able to do so. But of course some workshop that does this kind of repair as routine could be more cost effective.

AgX, do you have any examples of shops like that? The only shop that comes to mind from your description is Miyazaki-san of MS Optics in Funabashi, Chiba, Japan.

What do you need repaired? If it's simple I might be able to help (I'm a lens designer by profession who has actually bonded / centered / assembled optics a significant amount over my career).

I would have to look them up, but just in Germany alone there are a few firms that design and prototype optical systems with own workshop.

In the past in Europe Arax in Kiev offered such re-cementing and re-coating service, as far as I remember.

Nodda Duma, I recently got my hands on a rare vintage lens. It needs some significant work before I put it into service, though (the aperture blades need a trip through the ultrasonic and lubrication, plus there's all kinds of dust/hair/dirt in the lens). I figured that I might as well look into having the collimation checked and the surfaces coated while I'm sinking time and money into this thing.

AgX, this thread says that Arax isn't offering coating anymore. I suppose I can contact them myself, but do you have any information to the contrary?

Nodda Duma, I sent you a PM regarding lens work.
