I am getting into my fine art photography again, after about a six year absense (kids, job, life). I pulled the gear out of the closet yesterday and went through my stuff, including the lenses. My 210 Copal 1 is in great shape, fired off fine. My old 135 Optar from my 50's vintage Graphic did not do so well. I cocked and fired the shutter and it jammed. Upon recocking, it now fires, but at the dreaded "fires at same speeds" that you read in used lens sales ads. No matter where I set the shutter speed, it fires at what looks like about a 1/30 of a second. Even B and T are not working.

So 1. Can I get the lens fixed. 2. Will it be expensive. 3. Should I just look for another lens of similar focal length.

Despite being an old lens, it took wonderful pictures.

Contact Carol Miller (?) at Flutot's camera in Whittier California. She will very likely be able to fix the shutter - and for a very reasonable sum.

Here is their web site: http://www.flutotscamerarepair.com

Definitely email or phone her first. She is also an APUG member.
