Lens Board for Speed Graphic 3 1/3" x 4 1/4"

Hi all!

I'm looking at buying a Graphlex 34 crown graphic camera, are the lens boards universal across all of the "graphic" series cameras, or is there a specific size that I need? Thanks much!

The three sizes of Pacemakers (2X3, 3X4, and 4X5) each had a specific size lens board, I'm afraid. The boards for the 3X4 are going to be rather difficult to find. It is possible some of the 4X5 Pacemaker boards listed on eBay are actually 3X4 size, and the seller doesn't realize the difference, as they are similar in size. But you would need to email the sellers for exact size of the board they are selling to know for certain. If you buy a 3X4 Pacemaker, you should try to get one with a board, even if you must pay a bit extra for a lens you don't necessarily want. This thread on graflex.org gives the dimensions of the 3X4 board and mention of making your own.

Sizes of Pacemaker Graphic boards, from "Graphic Graflex Photography", 11th edition, c1958:

"23" (2 1/4 X 3 1/4) board size 2 1/2" X 2 1/2"

"34" (3 1/4 X 4 1/4) board size 3 3/16" X 3 19/64"

"45" (4X5) board size 3 23/32" X 3 21/32"

These board sizes are the same for both Pacemaker Crown and Pacemaker Speed Graphics.

Older 3 1/4" 4 1/4" lens board vary in size depending on the model. Which model do you have? Also see www.graflex.org for information, although they do not allow selling or buying on their website.

This is a Crown Graphic, so it is a Pacemaker with the metal lens board. Len has correctly listed the sizes. The 3-1/4x4-1/4 Pacemaker boards come up for sale occasionally on eBay. Don't buy a 3x4 camera without a lens board included.

The Op did not specify that it was a Pacemaker. Look at the Classified on APUG, and the Classified on http://www.largeformatphotography.info/ first. Others will be more expensive.

All Crown Graphics are Pacemakers.

I see the confusion. The OP calls this a Speed Graphic and a Crown Graphic.
