Will Nikkor ai and/or OM Zuiko lenses adapt to Canon FD (F1N) body? Are adapters available for these lenses?
Tamron Adaptall much?

I have several lenses that I can share between my Nikon F2s, OM10 and Praktica/Zenits. Tamron lenses seem to be a lot less pricey compared to branded/mounted lenses, and yet are still really good quality.

<Big thumb up!>

I forget of course, that these lenses were of a certain time, and some people might have missed out on knowing about them... But, yeah. A good set of lenses that will work on most lens mounts. Plus, you can leave the adaptors on the camera bodies and swap lenses. The adaptall mounts can be a bit fiddly, but they do work!

I bought most of mine in the last couple of years in the UK. I had a 70-210 one touch zoom with a Nikon mount left over from the pre-digital days which I figured wasn't worth trying to sell for all of £10, so I kept it. I then bought a really nice 35-70 f:3.5 for about £15. Then I bought an older 70-210 macro lens because I wanted the Olympus mount that was attached for £8, which turned out to be a really nice, if not quite large and heavy, lens. And great for macro stuff. I also bought a 200mm for naff all, a 24mm for about £35 and a very nice 17mm for around £60. The 17mm is great and uber wide without any fisheye-ness which I was initially slightly disappointed with, but after using it for a bit, I completely changed my mind! It's a great lens with a great view that is very different to my Nikkor 16mm.

Things seem to have changed looking at current prices on ePrey, but when I bought mine, it seemed that going for lenses with less popular or favourable mounts (such as M42 or Canon*) meant the prices were lower. Looking at current listings, prices seem to have risen, but aren't as expensive as branded lenses. Oh, and if you haven't already found it, check out https://www.apotelyt.com/photo-lens/tamron-adaptall-catalog

*What? Oh come on! Yeah, look, I know... But, as a Nikon user, I have to take a cheap shot (ha!) whenever possible

Canon made adapters for using Nikon, Exakta, M42 and Leica 39mm lenses. There are also off brand ones floating around. Which of my Nikkors would I use on a Canon F-1? A 35/2.8 PC Nikkor (2nd to last version), a 180/2.8 PC, a 55/2.8 Micro Nikkor and maybe a 105/4 Micro Nikkor. I don't have the 35/2.8 TS Canon lens so the Nikkor does some of what that lens does. I also have a number of Canon and Canon mount bellows units and I might use a 105/4 Nikkor bellows lens (1st version) with an adapter on them. I have a 100/4 Yashica ML bellows macro and a Y/C to Nikon adapter. I plan to use it on a Canon bellows with a Nikon to Canon adapter.

My wife can use my Nikkor lenses on her 5DMkII
In case you missed this, the 5D MKII has a different lens mount (EF) than the FD mount on Gerry M's camera.

I've never tried an OM to FD adapter, but I have a Nikon F to FD adapter and I've used it to mount my Nikons to my Canon F-1 before. Infinity focus is retained, although there is no coupling between the lens and body, of course, so metering must be done using the stop-down method.

I also have a couple of M42 to FD/FL adapters that were made by Canon, and which can be found made by others. So if you have any M42 lenses, this is also another avenue you can exploit.
