hi

i just found the leitz flash that went along with my m3.
it hasn't been used in a long long time,
is it any good ? it has one of those
crazy circular fanned reflector gizmos.

thanks!

You will have to check it out, I am afraid.

If it is for bulbs: try to get some bulbs and a new battery for it, they were not bad.

If it is an elctronic one:
The batteries will be dead, or nearly dead, try to recharge for one minute and see what happens: no smoke: give it another 5 minutes and so on.
If they have NiCads inside have them replaced by a repairman with NiMh ones, they will last longer.

Why don't you post a pic down here, it is a lot easier talking !

I take it you are talking about a CEYOO.

You will need to find a supply of #5 or #25 flashbulbs, though it may also take M2/M3 bulbs - ebay usually has a good selection.

Most of these took 22.5 volt #412 batteries, you will probably have to order one at some ridiculous price. If you are lucky you have the version that takes 4 AA cells.

If it is the 22.5V BC style then the electrolytic condenser in the unit will likely need to be replaced.

Radio Shack can probably get you the battery and condenser.
