How is the film type reminder dial set?

Pressing the ASA/DIN release lock allows the dial to be turned so that the film speed is set at the corresponding black indicator line. When the lock is released, the dial is locked in place, as you would expect. At this point I would expect the little silver post atop the dial could be used to rotate the film type dial. However, that doesn't work - it's totally immobile.

On my Leicaflex the film type dial feels quite stiff when rotated. I never use it.

So - what is the procedure for rotating the reminder part of the dial?
