Has any tried the Leica Summaron 28mm that came out a couple years back.
I've watched a couple reviews about the lens and people who do reviews love it, although I finder "reviewers" and photographers to often have different views.
If you've used it,
Did you like it enough to buy one?
Is the corner drop-off as dramatic as reviews seem to indicate.
Do you find the aperture limiting when shooting with a filter like the deep yellow or orange?
Any feedback from actual users greatly appreciated.

I'm considering it for a project that I'm about to start off on but haven't sold myself on the idea yet.

I much prefer the Orion 15 28mm f6 to the Leica Summaron. It is a superb lens. And you should be able to get an excellent one for under $300. I've only used it with a film M.

Anyway, it's an option and gives a very similar look (vignettes) as the Summaron, but seems to be sharper.

edit - I noticed from my records that early on I tried it on a digi Leica. In LR using the profile for the Voigtlander 28mm 3.5 it really helped with the vignetting etc.

Does the Orion focus correctly on a Leica, both close and at infinity?

Yes. I was actually surprised it has rf coupling as some on the web suggested it was a zone focus lens. It focuses perfectly. Also, this lens, as well as the Leica, is a 28mm f5.6/f6. So you are using a wide angle lens (already deep DOF) that has a very small max aperture (even more DOF) so you really have to try hard to miss focus!
