FOR SALE
Leica Summarit-M 50mm f/1.5 lens with generic front plastic cap.
Serial # 1391025 (made 1956)
Lens was just CLA'd by Youxin Ye. Cost was $ 90.
Focus is butter smooth, glass super clear and clean BUT front element has cleaning marks all over it. Summarits had a very soft coating and this is a common issue. While Youxin Ye tested this lens on a digital camera after cleaning and said it produces good images, I would say this lens should be considered for someone who wants a soft focus lens or doesn't mind the potential for flare given the cleaning marks or will use a hood to promote contrast. Barrel is beautiful. Aperture dry. If it werent for the cleaning marks, the lens would grade a nice 9 condition, but with the cleaning marks, I need to give it a 7- or KEH BARGAIN GRADE . $ 285
plus shipping. please email dcolucci@aol.com
The Summarit is a 7 element lens. Filter size E41. Have not shot with the lens but mounted it to my Leica M3 and it works beautifully.
PLEASE NOTE: This lens was originally mounted to an M3 camera. I bought from the original owner and this was the original lens he bought on the M3. The lens was sent to you Youxin Ye for a CLA. This lens mounts perfectly on an M3. When trying this lens on a Leica M6, it will not fully mount to make it "click" on. I contacted Youxin about this and he said he has seen this before and it doesnt mean anything is wrong with the lens. IF YOU BUY THIS LENS AND IT WONT FULLY MOUNT ON YOUR CAMERA - 10 DAY RETURN MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.
Thank you
