Yeah, after the issues with the Camera 7 twins, and then, someone being very slow in passing on one of the Camera 8 twins...

Maybe we can get this wrapped up by June 1st? Wishful thinking?

Hi Shawn,

Any news from Mr M.A Longmore ? And wasn't another late participant planned, before the camera will be back in your hands ?

Regards,

Raphael

Hi Raphael - hope you are well.

Good memory! You are correct, but since there's been no response from Jim17x, we are moving on. I hate to leave leave someone out, but rules are rules, and we don't want to risk the camera at this point.

Ron Longmore confirmed he is participating, so he is the last one before I get it.

Regards,

Shawn

Update on counters

Where we be right now with the Oly:

Sile Ireland
Raphael Plougastel, France
rst Oestringen, Germany
kraker Breda, The Netherlands
nicholai Denmark
Steve Smith Isle of Wight, UK
Rick A Emporium, PA
Jim17x Worth, IL

ambaker Poplar Bluff, MO
toro_mike Englewood, CO
cdholden, Nashville, TN ← Camera now on its way here.
M.A. Longmore Hartsdale, NY
Shawn Rahman, NY

Maybe we can get this wrapped up by June 1st? Wishful thinking?

I let the days fly away and I forgot any recent updates on the last stopover points.

Until toro_mike's home, the Oly travelled 17166km (27,465 miles), and it takes 354 days to do so. Then, average speed is 48.5km/day, or 77.6mi/day, or 3375 furlongs/fornight

BTW, we shamefully forgot the Oly Camera 9 project anniversary day: the April 12th, the camera was travelling for more than a year

Something is wonky with your numbers. I think you have miles and kilometers switched around, because 27,465 kilometres = 17,166 miles.

But remember, the cameras are metric, so those are metric miles.

Argh, yes, sorry. This is in fact 17166 km and 10729 miles...

So same thing for the speed, 30.31 mi/day...

It was for checking if someone actually read me :whistling:

But I like the lxdude proposal of metric miles unit very much !

And whatever, the furlong/fornight should be right :D

Thanks,

Signed : Wonky Raph..

We do have heating!

Steve.

Yes, I have had some of that heating. In a hotel in Cambridge that was last refurbished during the third Crusade. And the plumbing? All night... drip, drip, drip. (Which is more than came out when I tried to take a shower).

They best part was the yellow police tape crisscrossed over the entrance to the elevator. And the other elevator weren't too hot neither. I took the stairs.

Speaking of heating, I turned mine off on March 15th.
