All chickens aside, I thought I'd let you know that the Olympus has safely arrived in the Netherlands (more specifically: in my home). Some bad weather the coming days, and although that might give a nice photo opportunity, it could also mean that I hold on to the camera until we see some sun again.

Anyway, I'll keep you all updated.

Hi Ruediger, Hi all,

A funny thing would be publishing a speed indicator for each camera, in kilometer /day (km/h would be rather optimistic ), and in miles per day (or in Furlongs by Victorian Day, or wathever strange Imperial system unit you'd like..), both for the whole travel from start, and for the last current step.

So, if i am right, counting town-to-town with google maps, for now the Stylus traveled approx 6860 km (with the hypothesis that Shawn posted it from NYC), posted the 03/25/2013 (54 days ago), so overall speed is 127 km/day. The last stage (til the Mr Kraker's home) was traveled at 77 km/day.

Same thing for the Leica can't be made right now, without enough precise localization data. I.e if I consider the Manitoba to Manitoba step, it counts for 0 km, and I believe it's a little larger than that

Ahah ! I was searching about a proper time unit, and just tumbled on this page , about the
Furlong/Firkin/Fortnight system :

So, the Fortnight seems to be the ideal time unit, and so, a speed should be in furlongs/fortnight...

Pedro - welcome!

As you can see or probably guess, this is quite difficult to coordinate and manage effectively. Thus, we aim to go one round at a time. We currently have two cameras running for this round, but we are all booked.

But we will be pleased to include you in the next round. Also, just in case someone drops out (always a possibility), we will send you a PM to get you in on this round. Please stay tuned and feel free to comment at any time.

Ahhh, well maybe about as much air as the last round "contestant" was given? I know after patience, humor and downright follow through - it came back for air.....are we at that point yet? Seems we just started...but who watches his/her click on camera tours.....

While we are on the subject of the Leica... Let's switch briefly to the Olympus.

I've taken my allotted two shots, and the camera is ready to go to the next in line. That would be nicholai in Denmark.
I've sent a PM yesterday evening, I'll keep an eye out for an answer the next few days.

Okay, that's what I had to say on the subject of the Leica, even though most of it really seemed to be about the Stylus. Well...

Nicholai is ready to receive. I'm not sure when I will be able to get to the post office, but certainly no later than coming Saturday the Stylus will be on the road again. How's that in furlongs per forthnight compared to the Leica?

Dear Jacco,

Glad to hear from you and the Stylus !

From NYC, until Breda, the Stylus traveled along 7012 Km. I should correct my previous calculation, since, in I mistakenly supposed (don't know why !) that Sile lives in Cork , but she's actualy in Wicklow, so the supplementary distance. From now, it was posted 66 days ago, so the speed is 106km/day, or a whooping 7400 furlongs/fortnight

Leica : if supposed to be still in Los Gatos (and not heading to an hidden location in Bahamas islands), it was posted now 163 days ago, and with a crude estimation of distance, speed is :
33km/day
2293 furlongs/fortnight
