And wearing Leica labeled suspenders to match their Leica camera straps, since it's already been pointed out to me on good authority that there are no Leica belt buckle ornaments. But maybe if there were Leica branded cowboy boots made with genuine rattlesnake skin, they would come out with a big brass Leica cowboy belt buckle ... it's inevitable. There are plenty of rich Texans who don't even ride horses or actually shoot cameras either, but still like to brag that they own the best of everything.

Big fan of Texas?

I went to Austin TX 25 years ago and every other dude was a dude all decked out ranch hand like with the boots, jeans, buckle, shirt, bolo and that big hat all clean as a whistle. Dress however you want it’s all good. People don‘t bother to dress nice these days so it was a pleasant surprise. I haven’t been there since and wonder if it’s still the same. Hope us CA migrants hadn‘t ruined things.

Urban cowboys. I grew up with real cowboys, and here in CA, amidst open range and ranches bigger than the size of all of 'Frisco itself, a couple of them half a million acres apiece, in fact. If one of them there phony cowboys walked into the bar, they'd look him over, and if thar waren't real cow poo on his boots, or distinct wear n tear on his hat from the weather, that "dude" (in the technical sense or the term) was in for a rough time. If someone walked in wearing a business suit instead, they'd scratch their heads what he was doing there, but not bother him. In Texas nobody can tell because everything is so coated in nicotine stains and gunpowder grime that everyone looks the same, and coughs the same; but I suspect that all the cowboys there are now hopelessly phony. Most of the horses are probably dying from emphysema too. Or maybe that's just because I watched "Giant" with James Dean in it once again last week; he looked greasy enough once he struck oil.

Nobody really wears suspenders here except fat old men and police detectives. Heavy protective outer suits like firemen wear, or hanging heavy gear bags like carpenters use, are a whole different category of suspender. They're needed by Leica owners due to the weight of all the gold coins in their pockets.

Yes. Men wear braces to hold up trousers (pants)
Ladies' suspenders usually hold up stockings.
Same language, different words & meaning.

In England braces are for teeth. In the US they call braces retainers.

In England retainers are for barristers or for Downton Abbey. 😁 Until the early 60s retainers were necessary but not sufficient in every case to prevent the visit of men's suspenders. They were called Pierrepoints 😨

If you ever have the occasion to wear court trousers, vests and robes, you will find that suspenders are a very good idea!
Back in the day, I was always very glad that the horsehair wigs were not permitted in our "colonial" courts!

How do Bungee jumping cords fit into all of this? Arrive at the jump site wearing your own? Maybe that's where the wig was lost.

If Leica sold Leica branded film wouldn't they need to redesign the camera giving it a transparent back.
What would be the point of paying $80.00 for a roll of re-branded film if others couldn't see the Leica logo on it?

Brilliant. It could be a red transparent window. Not only would it evoke cameras of yore, it would be matchy matchy with the red dot on the front of the camera.

Perhaps the Leica film should be sold in miniature Louis Vuitton cases?

Leica should develop its own line of film. Much easier said than done. If Leica wanted to go into the film business it should buy AGFA film company. It's neither dormant or dead. They made quite good color-negative films. Don't look for it to happen.
