Leica should introduce their own line of 35mm film

Zingo! What a great idea. Leica could use a guy like you in their marketing department. To make it even more unique, the film should only be available at Leica Boutique stores.

Instead of dancing around willy nilly taking as many pictures as possible while hoping there is a decent one in the bunch, the true Leica shooter will contemplate each and every shot. Judging the scene on a scale of Bresson to Capa the worthiness of the image. Knowing how important it is to get it right, since the next roll of Leicaclassic 400 will not be delivered until the following spring.

That depends on what Leica is going to use for their film.

If they rebrand Xtra400, then yes. Technically, they do.

But you won't get the red dot or the black tape to cover it, so you'll be better off buying direct from Leica. Only the best will do, of course.

Unless it says Leica on the box, it is not Leica film. There is a rigorous quality control check with included documentation. Sort of like those stickers on your tighty whities, except fancier.

Obviously rebranding.

Leicachrome for the reversal films - E100 or Ektachrome 100d respooled.

Leicaclassic for B&W - Leicaclassic HC (high contrast) which would be the amazing Catlabs 320 Pro
- Leicaclassic 400 which would be Kentmere 400 (gives that old school 400 vibe)
- Leicaclassic 125 which would be FP4

Leicacolor for color - Leicacolor 400 which would be Cinestill 400d
- Leicacolor 200 which would be Fuji 200 or Kodak 200

Mark up the price by 50-100% for the privilege of using genuine Leica film in your genuine Leica. Provide mailers for TheDarkroom (or whatever other lab). Make money promoting film.

Strange, that doesn’t spell Leica. It needs to spell Leica so the markup can be appropriate. People need to know they are acquiring (Leica owners do not do something so crass as buying -they acquire) a quality product. If you can get it at Walmart, it is of low perceived quality. Kodak is sold at Walmart.

I must confess that in the late 1960s for a while I used Leicanol developer. In a white box with script spelling Leicanol similar to that on top of cameras. That was before the Red Dot.
Leica really messed up...no RedDot on their watches. For $12,000.00 you would assume a Red Dot at the very least. Leica has been running full page ads in Wall Street Journal weekend magazine for their watches. Unfortunately, not charging enough...looked cheap opposite a page featuring a $60,000 watch.
