I am trying to find the website for DAG but when I search I get a DAG in Wisconsin and another in Oregon. I want to send two leica's for CLA to DAG. What is his email address? Does he respond to email or is a phone call better.

It is much better to call him...in the morning. His web site is:

https://www.dagcamera.com/

If you send him a camera, be advised that communication is NOT his strength. He'll do a great job at a reasonable price but you can expect to not hear a peep from him until he asks for payment.

It's a town called Oregon in Wisconsin. Here's an FAQ on DAG's site explaining:
Q: I noticed that your repair-shop is not located in Oregon, WI but in Fitchburg, WI. What's up with that?
A: Actually, you're right, we're located in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, just North of Oregon, WI. Since Fitchburg does not have a Post Office we can use Oregon, WI. as our city because our mail comes out of the city of Oregon. At times Fedex will indicate that from our zip code you need to use Fitchburg, if this happens then please use Fitchburg as our City. The reason why I prefer using Oregon as our city is that it's much easier to spell and I have to give out our shipping address quite often. Feel free to use Fitchburg as our city.

If your M5 has a light leak, DAG is not the place to get that fixed. He is super for everything else on the M5 (and other Ms)

Never heard that before. But I'm sure you'll enlighten us and tell us who is better at fixing light leaks.

I love my M5! I gave away an M3 because I had to many problems loading film. Kept the M4 and M5. The M5 is my favorite by a long shot.

I am reluctant to post this news. After sending DAG several small jobs and receiving excellent service and same day email communication I sent DAG a $1400 M-5 for overhaul. The shipment date was around 20 Sept 2020. I identified a need date of Dec. I have not received the camera and four e-mails requesting status are unanswered.

Because of his sterling reputation I did not ask for a delivery signature. USPS tracking indicated the packaged arrived.

I’m not going to make judgements or give anyone recommendations. I’m just passing on my experience.

Without a phone call I'd reserve judgement too.

Over the last 6-months or so, I have emailed DAG a number of times, and never have I received a reply. I sent my lens to YYE for CLA instead, and he is currently back-logged for 2 months on simple CLA's.
These people are not getting any younger, and the Leica dealers are running large amounts to gear through their shops.
Take care of your gear, ...

I always ask for delivery signature no matter who I send equipment to. It has nothing to do with the reputation of the recipient, but that of the postal service.

Give him a call.

Many dealers use Don Goldberg, DAG. Danner makes an excellent point about the two premier repair techs reaching retirement age. A significant amount of non metered Ms are on the market. The strong sell strategy is to have a documented service completed. Once sorted out a M will go for 20 or 40 years without a service.

My analog exit strategy was to use a cheaper M5 and sell my MP.

I will be in the Madison WI area in 5 weeks.

Always get a delivery receipt.

Just got my Nikon S2 back from DAG. Took a little longer than estimated but well worth the wait. I purchased the S2 and the 35mm lens for $250. The lens needed some work and the S2 definitely needed a CLA and shutter repair. Typical DAG work. Super smooth camera.

I use DAG on a Canon RF and it was good experience -- I would happily go back to him. YYE did a lens for me and it was also fine.

Just to be clear, the 35mm lens on the S2 was fixed by Zack’s Camera. He attempted to open the S2 but couldn’t budge the screws on the front. Don must have a special way to move them.
