Leica MP Rewind Knob Repair

Hello all. This randomly happened. I don't know when but suddenly I can not rewind my film because of this :/

Does any one know whatI can do? I see no parts on ebay

Oh no. I've had good results from Youxin Ye, in Massachusetts. 4 month turnaround

Your missing the top screw, with the two little prong holes, usually red prong holes.

Its probably a left hand thread and needs a little breakable locktite.

You just need the parts you've lost, and if it's the same as older Leica's that will be the top screw cap with the prong indents and the claw washer that goes underneath. It's a DIY job and the only tool you need is the 'prong spanner', lol.

That's not something that usually falls off, so I'm thinking someone must have serviced it before and did not re-attach it properly.

Leica store Miami sells some parts. I'd talk to them and see if they have one or can order it for you.
Might also be worth while to call Sherry Krauter and DAG. Certainly either one of them could fix it in minutes. Sherry might be near you?

Incidentally, this is the kind of thing Wally at APEX Camera repair in Walnut Creek, CA (long closed) would have fixed in a couple of minutes right at the counter while you chatted with him. He would only charge a few bucks for the part and send you on your way. Good man. I weep at the realization that we don't have many places like this anymore.
