Leica M4 and night photography

Quick question: I just got my M4 back for a new curtain so I'm feeling a bit cautious. Are there any problems doing long exposures with my M4. I've done it quite a bit with a 6x6 and Slr, but never with a rangefinder. Is it a good idea or not?
